Well the trend continues... never a dull moment in this family. Signs are that Summer is sadly coming to a close: the pool water isn't as clear as it used to be, the flower pots are showing their wear, the rabbits seem simply annoyed when it's hot out (again) and the crab grass is growing better than the grass....
And as one season ends, a new couldn't start without some type of change in this household. And so the decision was made by one phone call saying there was an opening in the veterinary technician program at Ridgewater and Bob was next on the waiting list to accept or decline the opportunity. And now Bob is a nearly full-time student at Ridgewater, and working at Home Depot. Days are busy and weekends are busier.
Tomorrow Joelle starts back at Prairie Land Child Care Center and will be in the Toddler room! How did that happen?? I expect a very tired little girl tomorrow when I pick her up, hoping there will be little crying when I drop her off... I will do my best to keep the tears in check.
But before summer comes to an end, we had a fantastic weekend enjoying the company of friends!!! It was so great having Laura in town for a number of days and calling on a whim to see what they were up to. We first managed time at the Popcorn Stand and then headed to our house for the kids to see bunnies and enjoy the backyard. (It's really coming along!) Sunday we brought the kids out to the Carter farm to pet and ride horses!! Emma thought it was great to be able to help the kids learn about Lena and ride her horse! Joelle even found a little time in the saddle! Later in the afternoon, after working in my mom's shade garden, Laura and Ellie joined us for a little poolside fun/chat. It was a perfect end to the weekend that always proves to be too short.

Mixed into all of this was more great help and support from my family as we got more things done at the store while Bob was at work in Willmar. Mom and I transplanted plants, Dad cleaned up and Katy and I boxed until there were no boxes left. (We set a limit, 1 hr or no boxes, I think it came out about even.) The next week will be especially busy as we tie up ends at the store and get it empty in preparation for the sale date, on top of Bob attending class and working. I guess you know where to find us this weekend... Then a small reward with a trip to Owatonna to enjoy a water park, time with friends and possibly family, attend a rabbit show, hopefully sell a few rabbits and head to the state fair for Emma's exhibit judging on her birthday! Yessiree, busy days ahead... and that doesn't even include the actual work schedule!
Enjoy the final days of summer, do something fun!!
We sure our lucky to have friends with so much to do! Thanks for keeping us busy and all of the great chats. Hopefully we can see you in Owatonna too.
