Thanks to a Minnesota blizzard today, we were all home, safe and sound with no TV! Perfect reminder of the best things in life and making memories. After breaking out White Christmas, Emma and I decided which cookies should make the to-do list. With Joelle in bed, Emma and I started preparations, gathering all of the necessities and getting things cleaned off and ready for cookies. We had 2 pans of spritz done when Joelle awoke from her nap (we soon discovered she woke up a little too soon). Joelle grabbed her stool and hopped up to "help". We tried a lesson in patience today... it didn't go well, maybe tomorrow...
With spritz complete, on to 2 batches of peanut butter blossoms! Again, Joelle had to help, but the weary eyes and shortened tolerance level made it hard for her to have to wait for the next batch to come out of the oven. She did a great job with rolling the dough balls in sugar, when she wanted to. For a 2 1/2 year old, she really did great. Throw a little kitchen dancing to Christmas tunes and it was a relatively fun afternoon!
During the cookie baking, the beef roast was cooking away in the crock pot. With the final batch of cookies complete, the squash finally got the needed baking time and supper was soon to follow!
End the night to with bath time for the 2 little girls, or as JoJo says - "Go Swimming!", some story time cuddles and this mommy is now ready to crash!
Enjoy some pictures of our marshmallow world and Christmas baking!
