The saying "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade" has been rattling through my head nearly daily for the past month or two. But sometimes making that lemonade is hard. We've had some difficult choices to make and are still working through more, but we have to know that in the end, the new adventure is where we need to be. This doesn't make it any easier, but we must keep it in perspective.
There has also been some disappointment lately and some happy goodbyes to go along with everything. We were expecting to say that we had baby bunnies again! But apparently we did not have a successful breeding back in February. So AP went on another "bunny date" to Crowley's Lions and Lops and we are now hoping for success this time with some Easter time babies. This of course started conversation of looking for a Holland Lop to add to our rabbitry and as of this morning discussion on breeding Mauer again to Crowley's "Chuck" - as she has proven to be a good mom, just not a good show bunny (Chippewa County Rabbit Project members can attest to that).
The happy goodbye came last week when we sent Riverside's Goldie off to his new home with Venkata and Vidyani. Now there is a SPOILED rabbit!!! And it makes Emma smile to hear of Goldie snuggling with Venkata while watching TV every night after work, so this is good. Hope they are enjoying their little hopper!
More information coming soon on the changes and decisions in the Carter household...
And now for today: here's hoping for a better day at the portrait studio for Joelle and 1 yr old pictures! Yesterday was a bust, she wanted nothing to do with the people trying to get her to smile. We'll see if having big sister along today makes the difference! Those two have quite the special bond...
